STAR PARTY at the GRIFFITH PARK OBSERVATORY!!!

Hey lovely Ithaca students! I'm sure you are all excited for the long awaited Thanksgiving break, whether or not you are going home or eating your turkey legs at the Oakwoods...

After break, on SATURDAY DECEMBER 6th, there is a "star party" at the GRIFFITH PARK OBSERVATORY. The "party" goes on from 2:45 till 9pm, we were thinking of going around 5pm.

Here is what it says about it on their website:
"Free public star parties are held monthly with the assistance of the Los Angeles Astronomical Society and the Los Angeles Sidewalk Astronomers at the Griffith Observatory from 2:00 p.m. to 9:45 p.m. They are a chance for the whole family to look at the sun, moon, visible planets, and other objects, to try out a variety of telescopes, and to talk to knowledgeable amateur astronomers about the sky and their equipment."

So come and learn about the universe in the beautiful Griffith Park Observatory! And it is 100% FREE!! yessss....

Getting to the rally

For those wanting to go to the Prop 8 / Love Not Hate / Yes to Gay Marriage Rally this Saturday (10:30am-1:00pm, LA City Hall), here is my suggestion for the best way to get there: Metro Redline from Universal City Station to Civic Center Station!

Pic 1) Start at the Universal City Metro Stop (A) (lots of free parking, and you could actually walk there from Oakwood...Barham to Cahuenga, turn right, Cahuenga to Lankershim, turn right).
Pic 2) Catch a train bearing the heading "Union Station Gateway Transit Center."
Pic 3) Walk a couple of blocks from the Civic Center Station to City Hall (A).

Barham Blvd. Film and TV Festival

BARHAM Blvd. Film and TV Festival
Sunday, December 7th 6 PM
Pendleton Center Screening Room
All media due Monday, December 1st by 5 PM

This film festival is meant to be a fun and exciting night for all the Ithacalas to show-off their past work, or their works-in-progress. All submissions will be selected for the festival; unless they are inappropriate- We doubt there’s anything like that!! ;)

It is also a night where the new Pendleton Center Screening Room’s brilliant capabilities will be put on display for all to see (or at least those who care about it the most!)

So search for your classics from last year, or your freshman year experimental film, or your sophomore year TV show. Whatever you are proud of, please submit. You have plenty of time to get a copy if you don’t have one. We want to see all of your work. So don’t be afraid to show off!!!!

All Media MUST be preferably in data DVD format (avi, mov, etc.) or on a mini-dv tape. Only in iDVD format if there's no other choice.

Media must fall under these categories, and be 15 minutes or less in length (Ask for exceptions):
Drama Short Film
Comedy Short Film
Nonfiction Short Film
Music Video
Animation Short Film
Experimental Short Film
TV Show or Program
Work-In-Progress

One person may NOT submit more than 2 different media. If 2 are submitted, you MUST label your first and second choice. Overall submissions will determine how many we select, which we hope is A LOT!!!
