Pop Open the Champagne! It’s time to celebrate another New Year!

The Chinese Chamber of Commerce is celebrating the 110th annual Golden Dragon Parade and Lunar Festival on January 31, 2009 (The festival runs from 10am-8pm; the parade 2-5pm). This magnificent Asian American celebration, located in Chinatown, is one of the most festive cultural events that the Los Angeles area has to offer. “The day of the Lunar New Year is the most celebrated holiday of the year for nearly 1.5 million persons of Chinese, Korean, and Vietnamese decent in Southern California”.

The parade and festival are great opportunities to experience the wonderful diversity of Los Angeles and is a fantastic time to see the best of what Chinatown has to offer!

Meet Danielle at the South Clubhouse at 12pm to carpool to Chinatown. The parade will begin at 2pm where Cesar Chavez and Broadway meet. We will be returning to the Oakwoods around 4pm to make sure people have time to get ready for the Beach Bonfire.

If you have any questions, please contact Danielle at 610.764.9466.
