Lakers Logistics

There's no great way to get to the Staples Center during rush hour, so just grin and bear it! I always park in a little lot on Flower St. and Pico Blvd. It's $10-$15. Park there, or anywhere you see someone flagging you in. You should find something for under $20. There are 2 garages (Lot W and Lot E below) that you can also use. From the staplescenter.com website:

From San Fernando Valley and Santa Clarita Valley

  1. Take 101S to 110S
  2. For Lots E, 4 and 9 - Exit Olympic Blvd. and turn right at end of ramp (Blaine Street)
  3. Turn right on Olympic Blvd.
  4. For Lots C, W and 1 - Exit Olympic Blvd. and turn left at end of ramp (Blaine Street)
  5. Turn left on 11th Street

Seatfiller Spots Open for 39th Image Awards

These are some shots from buzzsugar.com from last year's NAACP Image Awards show. From their press release, "The NAACP Image Awards honors projects and individuals that promote diversity in the arts in television, recording, literature and motion pictures. The theme of this year’s show is “Stand Up and Be Counted.” During this crucial election year, the NAACP encourages everyone to be socially conscious and take a stand on critical human and
civil rights issues."

This should be a great awards show! What better way to spend Valentine's Day than showing your love for these fantastic artists. Click here for the list of this year's nominees, and click here for the seatfiller application.

Awards Shows Internships and Bleacher Seats

First, the Independent Spirit Awards Show, the Independent Film Channel's awards show, is recruiting pre-production and production interns and volunteers! Click here for the application which you will fax to 310.432.1241. You must also email Donna Wisdom at dwisdom*at*filmindependent.org. In your email, attach your resume and a brief bio, as well as a photo of yourself (can be as basic as a camera phone pic). Donna likes to have a visual of you when she talks to you. Also in your email, mention that you realize the published application deadline is passed, but that Jon Bassinger-Flores spoke to her about you arriving in LA this week and were not able to apply earlier.

Also, I am taking names for the Screen Actors Guild Awards red carpet show bleacher seats. If you want to holler like a crazed fan and watch the stars pose, show off their designer wardrobe and give interviews AND sign autographs prior to entering the auditorium, LET ME KNOW ASAP! I only have a limited # of seats, so I'll do a random raffle if I get more people requesting a seat than I have tickets.

Details for SAG:

Date: Sunday, January 27th
Place: Shrine Auditorium
Time: 11:30am - 5pm

Email me ASAP to indicate your interest in attending. jbflores.icla@gmail.com
