Warner Bros. TV Internships

Internship opportunities for the Fall Semester (August - December, 2007)

1. Publicity Credit Only Interns
Warner Bros. Television seeks a Publicity Credit Intern for the TV Publicity department. Position assists in reading various publications for press clippings about WBTV shows. Scan videotapes for segments featuring our actors and/or shows. Attend various publicity functions when schedule permits: press conferences, press set visits, etc. Assist with the copying and collating of scripts. Xerox and distribute daily clip packet. Answer phones. Fax, file, and Xerox. Perform other related duties as assigned. Coordinate ad requests, publicity requests, (interviews, tracking awards and charity requests, coordinating high profile guests). Fulfill service orders of creative material for all publicity and media requests including pulling episodic and/or gallery photography, obtaining logos, etc. Review, maintains and apprises appropriate individuals on current series episodic scripts, shooting schedules, etc. Edit, reviews, and helps route all episodic artwork. Interface with multiple departments (including networks) in planning, hiring and overseeing episodic photographers. Manage/maintain existing library of original artwork and other material. Administer and/or coordinate the flow of information including all artwork’s delivery dates, projects’ progress, etc. Work extensively with the Digital Image Collections (TAZ) and digital photography. Answer telephones, screens, logs, and handles general publicity calls as well as specific call as directed. Type and prepares documents such as reports, correspondence, expense reports, and check requests. Schedule appointments, meetings, etc.

2. Network Research Credit Only Interns
Warner Bros. Television seeks a Credit Only Intern for the TV Network Research Department. The Research Department works with all areas of Warner Bros. Television, providing information and analysis related to consumer reaction to WBTV shows as well as to the television landscape in general. The department monitors ratings and scheduling trends and conducts focus groups to gather direct feedback from the audience on specific shows. The Research Intern will assist all members of the department in all aspects of this research. This is an excellent opportunity for anyone aspiring to start a career in the television industry to get hands-on exposure to and experience with all aspects of the television studio business. Download overnight ratings from Nielsen. Create and maintain various reports tracking series ratings and program test scores. Monitor broadcast and cable schedules; update grids for staff. Attend focus groups exploring viewer reaction to new and established primetime broadcast series. Prepare screeners and questionnaires for focus groups. Requires a working knowledge of Microsoft software (Word, Excel), and the ability to work with numbers. A strong interest in the field of television.

3. TV Administration Credit Only Interns
Warner Bros. Television seeks an Administrative Credit Intern for the TV Administration department. This position coordinates with many departments within Warner Bros. Television, as well as with corporate personnel, and outside vendors. Position will be assisting with several upcoming television milestone events. This will entail answering phones, faxing, photocopying, taking RSVP's, and learning the features of our internal party planner data base. Requires working knowledge of Word and Excel. This candidate must be motivated and be able to assist with a variety of duties. This is a wonderful opportunity for someone looking to gain knowledge of special event planning working within a studio environment.

4. TV Music Credit Only Interns
Warner Bros. Television seeks a Credit Intern for the TV Music department. This position will shadow Music Managers during day-to-day activities including conference calls, production meetings, and label representative meetings. They will also sit in with Clearance Managers and observe how songs are cleared for air, which includes reviewing cue sheets and tapes, negotiating deals with record labels, creating transmittal letters, and cutting payments to artists. Intern will review incoming CD submissions with Managers and discuss their selection process for submissions to shows, as well as learn how bands and performers are selected for on-camera performances with Manager of Music Contracting. The intern in this position will gain knowledge of AFM, SAG and other performance union related issues by assisting the Manager of Music Contracting in processing appropriate guild paperwork and payment. Position will Research songs or music related issues per show requests for Managers, sit in with the Music Coordinator to observe and help maintain the CD library including filing & refilling,. and meet with Contract Manager to discuss composer issues including the deal process and agreement specifications. Provides overall support and backup to the entire TV Music Department. Copy and help distribute documents/packages, scripts and correspondence as requested by Managers, VP and office staff. Requires working knowledge of Word and Excel and the ability to work with numbers. This candidate must be motivated and be able to assist with a variety of duties, must have an interest in Music, and must be available 2 to 3 days per week (Full work days preferred).
