Universal Info and Emmys Update

If you decide at the last minute that you want to go to Universal for the bargain basement price of $30, I have some extra tickets. Email me that you're coming so that we wait for you at the main gate.

Everyone who's going to Universal this Sunday should meet at the revolving globe in front of the main gate at 10:15 a.m. Be sure to allow time to drive, find parking, and walk through CityWalk to get to the globe. Your RAs will have your tickets there. We'll walk the red carpet, do the group photo, then take the studio tour. After that, feel free to explore the park on your own! I recommend the Shrek show, the Mummy, Jurassic Park, Waterworld and the special effects show! Animal tricks are also cute, and the Haunted House is vastly improved since I first gave it a try. Everything is chee-zee touristy fun, so keep that in mind!

To get to Universal, carpool (parking is $10/car!) to City Walk. Just turn left out of the main Oakwood entrance, go over the hill, and turn right on Buddy Holly Drive, just BEFORE the bridge over the 101. Follow the signs to City Walk parking. You'll probably be directed to park in Jurassic Parking. Once you're in City Walk, walk through the tourist trap shopping corridor until you see the globe pictured above. That's where we'll gather at 10:15. I'll bring donuts for the first lucky arrivals! Walking to City Walk is not recommended. Get in touch with an RA if you need a ride.

About the Emmy Awards show on Sept 16...I've heard that they're about done with seat filler spots, but you might get red carpet show bleacher seats, so e-mail Michael Francis at seatfillers@emmys.org with your interest and see what he can set you up with.
